I have to say... wood showed me the French version earlier tonight and it made my night! Haha... it's a great way for me to learn french too, eh? :} I could understand most of it! anyway, it is lovely to see this in comic form! Funny because I've done a version too, but it's not online... perhaps I will put some of my paris/france comics up soon... there is a scanner at my university.

It was lovely to see you for a moment in Paris... hope you enjoyed the dinner, eating on the floor, what have you. I'm sure you had a great night. The party we went to was strange, very American - lots of chefs from Cordonne Bleu (sp?) and writers who work and live at Shakespeare and Co (the famous english book store in Paris?).

Hopefully I will see you again eh? I will have to plot to come to Angouleme again for a bit or something. Hope you and monsieur spanish lover had a blast ;]

...and so funny that you didn't know I was a lesbian... or gal! (i saw her comment... heehee). But I suppose it wasn't so obvious? Ahhh I don't know. I was trying to stray from the image while I was in Santa Cruz but now that I'm in Paris it's coming back again because I want to assert my identity or something! Haha.

When I was in France I really tried to dyke it up, too, so that I could have something to belong to that would also let me be a part of France at the same time. Surely I could fit into the gay world over there, I thought!

Maybe it was just Aix, but one of my biggest lessons in French culture I learned was that everyone is FRENCH first and then all the other little sub-cultures you might belong to definitely come in second. Of course, over in the US, it's the complete opposite. Over here, you're [insert minority identity] first and as an after-thought you're American.

Basically what I'm saying is that I did NOT find my place in the gay world in Aix-en-Provence ;) But maybe you'll have more luck!

Haha... okay, now I have a deadline to finish/scan the damn comic, I guess! Just for you guys.. hah. I'll try tonight.

It's too bad Stumptown is in April this year... what gives?! I was so excited to be back to go in October. Now I miss APE *and* Stumptown. Well, ipomee you will have to come sometime to the US and I'll go up to Portland... or maybe we'll all just meet up in England... haha. Erika, planning to come this side of the ocean any time soon? :B
